Chandon to Host On-Course Cheer Zone at Napa Valley Marathon

The local sponsor activation is the first of its kind on the NVM course.

NAPA, CA – The organizers of the Napa Valley Marathon & Half Marathon are excited to welcome Chandon as an on-course activation partner for the March 6, 2022 race. Chandon, an exceptional winery in Napa Valley for over 40 years, will be hosting a cheer station located on the corner of Silverado Trail and Oak Knoll Road, just before mile 23 of the marathon course. The premium sparkling wine purveyor hopes to inspire and encourage runners with this first-of-its-kind activation along the beautiful course from Calistoga to Napa.

The new, community-focused partnership between Chandon and NVM, Inc. expands beyond the bounds of the cheer station, as Chandon employees and friends will be participating in the marathon and half marathon races.

“As a collaborative network of global wineries, community is our strength” said Stephane de Meruville, General Manager of Chandon California. “That is why we are excited to partner with the Napa Valley Marathon in supporting our great community, family, friends, and club members. We are inspired by these participants’ boldness and strength, just as we are by the beautiful nature of Napa. We look forward to cheering everyone on as they run throughout this scenic course to the finish line.”

Chandon, the Yountville home of California’s iconic sparkling wines, provides visitors with one of the most beautiful locations in Napa Valley to taste and learn about its award-winning portfolio year-round. Napa Valley Marathon participants and their guests often look to Chandon to be fully immersed in the wine country experience on race weekend.

“As a community-focused organization, we are thrilled to partner with such an iconic local brand as Chandon,” said Christy Slye, Director of Partnerships for the Napa Valley Marathon. “Our participants are looking for the full wine country experience when they come to this race, and we hope that by syncing up with storied purveyors like Chandon, we can help provide that elevated experience.”

For the first time since 2020, the event organizers are looking forward to producing a safe in-person event for a sold-out field of excited participants. All three race distances – the Kaiser Permanente Napa Valley Marathon, Half Marathon, and the Kiwanis Club of Greater Napa 5K – are sold out for 2022.

The nonprofit Napa Valley Marathon, Inc. is dedicated to serving wine country through a series of charitable venues, including a scholarship program for local high school seniors. Since its inception, the race organization has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to the local community. Participant entry fees help support these charitable ventures.
