Expo: Friday, February 27th, 1:00pm – 6:00pm; and Saturday, February 28th 9:00am – 5:00pm, Napa Valley Marriott Hotel and Spa – Free to attend
WHERE:
Race takes place along the beautiful Silverado Trail, from Calistoga, south to the finish line at Vintage High School in Napa, Napa Valley, California.
DETAILS:
Americans dominated the world marathon stage in the 1970s and early ’80s. The 1976 USA Olympic marathon team–Frank Shorter, Bill Rodgers, and Don Kardong–will be special guests at the 2015 Kaiser Permanente Napa Valley Marathon. Shorter won the 1972 Olympic Marathon and took second place in 1976, while Don Kardong took fourth. During that era, Frank Shorter won Fukuoka (the then world championship marathon) four years in a row: 1971-74. Bill Rodgers won both Boston and New York four times each. And Don Kardong won Honolulu in 1978.
