COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PERFECT PAIRING

How do I upload my results?

Click here for step-by-step instructions on submitting your results via a wearable device or uploading manually.

Where can I view the results?

Click here to view the results leaderboard.

Is the cost to participate the same regardless of how many challenges I complete?

Yes, the cost to participate is $65 for the general public and $55 for NVM 2021 entrants regardless of how many challenges you complete during the competition window.  The more challenges you complete, the more swag you earn! Visit www.napavalleymarathon.org/the-perfect-pairing/ to see all the swag you can earn as you work your way through the five challenges.  Don’t forget to upload your results so we know you completed each distance!

Do I have to complete the challenges in consecutive order (i.e. shortest distance first, longest distance last)?

No; you do not have to complete the challenges in consecutive order. For example, you could run a 10K one day, a marathon the next week, and a 5K a few weeks later. If you sync your wearable running tracker, you can upload your results in any order (we’ll send instructions on how to sync your device in a few weeks). You can also manually upload your results. You will receive the swag associated with all the distances you complete at the end of the challenge.

Can I add up mileage from several shorter runs to count toward the longer distance challenges?

For the Barrel Blend Marathon, YES!  You can use as many segments as you need to add up to the 26.2 mile distance.  All other distances (1 mile, 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon) are designed to be distinct separate distances completed in one run.

Can I run on a treadmill?

Yes, you can!

Is there a time limit?

There are no time limits for these virtual race distances.

How do I know if I am one of the first 200 to register? When will I receive my savory nut mix from Clif Family Winery?

If you were one of the first 200 to register, you should have received an email from us on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.  If you did not receive an email, you unfortunately did not make the cutoff. Your savory nut mix will be included with your swag package and shipped in late March.

Do I earn a medal for each distance I complete?

No, you only earn one medal – the wine stopper medal, for completing the Tiny Taste 1 Mile.  Please note, the ribbon on this medal does showcase all five race distances in the virtual experience.

When do I get all the swag I earn?

At the end of the challenge (March 7, 2021) we’ll tally up all of the swag you earned over the month and send it to you in one big package! Please make sure the shipping address in your haku participant account is up to date. Note that because we have to package up all the swag after the event ends, it may take several weeks to receive your goodies. Thank you for your patience. We will update this FAQ when shipping begins.

Is this challenge open to international participants?

Yes, Napa Valley Marathon’s Perfect Pairing Virtual Experience is open to international participants.

Are you planning to hold an in-person March 2021 Napa Valley Marathon and Half Marathon weekend?

No. We announced in mid-November of 2020 that the Napa Valley Marathon and Half Marathon will be cancelled for 2021.  Anyone who was registered has their choice for a free deferral into the 2022 or 2023 event.  Please visit that FAQ for more details.

Who do I contact if I have more questions?
