Napa Valley Marathon Buses and Parking

Taking a bus is the best way to get to the race start.  You have two options:

1. Park at Vintage High School (the finish line). Monitors will direct you to the parking area. Plan to arrive at Vintage High School by 5:00 a.m. Don’t be late! Buses that take you to the start in Calistoga begin leaving at 5:15 a.m. For your comfort, you will be able to wait on a bus until approximately 20 minutes prior to the start of the race.

2.  Take a bus from one of our hotel partners.  Buses leave from the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa (also serving the Hilton Garden Inn next door), the Embassy Suites, and the River Terrace Inn (also serving the Westin Verasa next door).  All hotel buses begin leaving at 5:00 a.m. and the last buses will leave at 5:15 a.m.  Please be prompt!

Bus tickets cost $10 and you must have a bus ticket to ride the bus.  You can purchase your bus ticket either online or at the expo on race weekend.

Parking in Calistoga is extremely limited and there is no direct access to the start line by car. If you must drive to the start, use Highway 29 on the west side of the valley, NOT the Silverado Trail which will be closed for the race. In Calistoga, street parking near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Brannan Street is the only option.  Course monitors will direct you to the start area after you park.  Be prepared for a one-mile walk.  Again, we encourage you to take the bus.

There is no race-provided transportation back to Calistoga after the race. However, there is public transportation. Public transportation is available at the Redwood Park & Ride across from the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa. Buses depart at approximately 40 minutes after the hour starting at 7:42 a.m.

Shuttle service from the finish line to the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa, Embassy Suites, and the River Terrace Inn is available from 10:00 a.m to 1:30 p.m.
