KAISER PERMANENTE NAPA VALLEY MARATHON
SALUTES THE
2017 GRADUATES – RECIPIENTS OF SCHOLARSHIPS

June 6, 2017 – Napa, CA-The Board and Event Directors of the Kaiser Permanente Napa Valley Marathon applaud the many students who volunteered to help at the Marathon in March this year from high schools in the Napa Valley.  We appreciate their volunteerism. The Marathon committee has provided over $71,000 in Scholarships to high school students throughout the valley over the past nine years.

The Marathon awarded scholarships to ten students from the Napa Valley High Schools: Napa, Vintage, and St. Helena for a total amount of $6,000. These scholarships have become an annual tradition celebrating students who excel at academics, and support the Marathon through their volunteerism. KPNVM encourages all students to get involved their communities through volunteer service and community participation.

Co-Event Director and President Richard Benyo stated, “Since the beginning of the Napa Valley Marathon, giving back to our Community has been a guiding principle of the Board. Over the years, youngsters who have volunteered to help during race weekend, and who are in good-standing in their respective schools, have received support to continue their education. We believe that in this way, we can demonstrate the values we try to impart to our runners.”

In 2018, the Kaiser Permanente Napa Valley Marathon will celebrate the 40th Annual running. The Marathon will take place on Sunday, March 4, 2018. Registration is open and information and registration can be accessed at www.napavalleymarathon.org.
